Multan, Pakistan : In the highly anticipated opening match of the Asia Cup, Pakistan’s cricket team, led by captain Babar Azam, won the toss and chose to bat against Nepal. The match, held in Multan, marked the beginning of an exciting tournament, with teams vying for supremacy in the prestigious competition.
Babar Azam expressed confidence and emphasised that there is no additional pressure from playing on home soil. He stated that the players are focused on enjoying the game of cricket and giving their best performance. “The players and people are happy as it’s their first Asia Cup game. We are used to these conditions, and it’s a beautiful wicket to bat on,” Babar Azam noted.
The Asia Cup Group A also includes India, with the top two teams advancing to the Super Four stage of the tournament. India’s campaign in the tournament is set to kick off against Pakistan on Saturday, promising an electrifying match between the arch-rivals.
