Colombo: The highly anticipated Asia Cup clash between cricketing rivals India and Pakistan took an exciting turn as Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. This much-anticipated encounter has garnered immense attention from fans worldwide, and the toss decision sets the stage for an intense showdown at the P. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, explained the decision, saying, “We will bowl first. I think there is a bit of moisture; we need to use that. Always, India-Pakistan is high intensity, but we will take it match to match. As a team, we are playing well, and we are focused on this one. No changes.”

Pakistan’s playing XI Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam(c), Mohammad Rizwan(w), Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf

In response, Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, expressed his desire to bat first, saying, “Looking to bat first. There will be a challenge upfront, but the way we guys batted last time around gives us confidence. Every game is important for us, but one thing at a time to focus on (On rain delays, that’s the nature of the sport; it gave us good time to prepare, and now we’ll look to play well.”

India made two changes to their lineup for this crucial match. Jasprit Bumrah made his return, and due to a back spasm suffered by Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul was included in the playing XI.

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan(w), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj
