Indonesia: In a dazzling display of skill and determination, young Indian shuttler Kiran George emerged victorious at the Indonesia Masters Super 100 men’s singles title, securing a thrilling victory against Japan’s Koo Takahashi in a fiercely contested final.

Ranked at No. 50, Kiran George defeated his Japanese opponent, Koo Takahashi, who was ranked 82, in a gripping match that ended with a scoreline of 21-19, 22-20. The victory marked yet another milestone in Kiran’s burgeoning badminton career, adding to his Super 100 title at the Odisha Open in 2022.

In the semifinals, Kiran created waves by defeating Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto in a hard-fought three-setter, establishing himself as a formidable performer on the global stage of the BWF World Tour.

The final match of the tournament was a true spectacle, as both players engaged in a thrilling display of rallies, nerves of steel, and exceptional athleticism. In the first game, Kiran’s agility and quick footwork allowed him to dominate with net dribbles and a captivating criss-crossing game.

The second game saw Koo Takahashi initially take a 2-0 lead, but Kiran swiftly turned the tide, showcasing his powerful crosscourt smashes and taking a 4-2 lead. He continued to maintain his advantage, leading 11-9 at the interval. However, the Japanese player demonstrated remarkable composure, levelling the game at 20-20.
