Srinagar: In the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, security arrangements have been reinforced as the search for terrorists continues. This action comes in the backdrop of the martyrdom of three officers, including Colonel Manpreet Singh, the unit commander of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles, in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag.
The Army has intensified special checks on Jammu and Kashmir national highways and implemented enhanced surveillance in the border areas. The investigation is being conducted based on information received from the intelligence department, which indicates that terrorists are camped in the Anantnag area with weapons. Security forces have been conducting operations against terrorists in areas such as Rajouri and Anantnag for the past two days.
In Anantnag, during an encounter between security forces and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, officers, including a commander, colonel, and major from the political rifle unit, were martyred yesterday. It has been confirmed that the Resistance Front, the Kashmiri version of Lashkar-e-Taiba, is responsible for the incident. In light of this information, security measures have been further reinforced in Jammu and Kashmir.
