1993 batch IRS officer Rahul Navin takes charge as interim director of Enforcement Directorate (ED). Rahul Navin has been given the charge of ED Director on the completion of the tenure of former Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra. He will hold the charge until a permanent director is appointed or until further notice . Navin is currently the Special Director of ED.
On July 26, the Supreme Court had extended Sanjay Kumar Mishra’s term as ED Director till September 15. ED Director Mishra, an IRS officer of 1984 cadre, had been given two extensions of one year each, but the Supreme Court said that no further extension should be granted. As per the notification issued by the government, Mishra has to remain in office till November 18.
