Amid wide protest surrounding DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s recent remarks about Sanatana Dharma, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday slams Udayanidhi and challenged that he has the courage to talk about any other religions.
“You became a minister by taking oath according to the constitution. You have clearly stated in the oath ceremony that you will not hurt the sentiments of others. You have no right to say that you will destroy a religion. And it never will be. How can we continue to listen to calls aimed at destroying Hindu temples?”
“There are more hate speeches against Sanatana Dharma because we do not respond. But they don’t have the backbone to abuse other religious people. Is there no problem with other religions? Are women not treated badly in other religions? Do you dare to speak against it?”, the Minister added.
