Chief Minister Pinaraayi Vijayan on Sunday condoled the death of veteran filmmaker KG George. In his condolence note, the Chief Minister said that KG George was a filmmaker who gained a place in the hearts of the audience by dealing with socially responsible issues. Analyzing the structure of society and the structure of individual minds was his unique method, the Chief Minister said in his condolence note.
KG George’s work bridged the gap between artistic and commercial cinema, significantly elevating the quality and entertainment value of films. He is the director of many memorable movies.The first film Swapnatanam won the National Award. Movies like Yavanika and Panchavadipalam are always in Malayali’s mind. The Chief Minister acknowledged that there are only few directors who have tackled such diverse themes, and he regarded KG George’s passing as an irreparable loss to the Malayalam film industry.
