Amritsar: In a major drug bust in Punjab, authorities seized 700 grams of heroin, concealed in two bottles, leading to the detention of one individual. The illicit substance was apprehended during a joint operation conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police in Daoke village.
The incident unfolded yesterday afternoon when the BSF and Punjab Police were monitoring two suspects in Vill – Daoke region. Upon noticing the police, the suspects attempted to flee, prompting a pursuit. The police successfully apprehended one person, and based on his statement, two bottles of heroin were seized. The BSF reported that 700 grams of heroin were recovered from a farm in Daoke village.
On September 24, the Punjab Police announced the arrest of two individuals with 12 kg of heroin and Rs 19.3 lakh. The drugs were seized in a joint operation by the Gurdaspur Police and the Border Security Force. The police also clarified that drug smuggling from Pakistan involves the use of drones.
