Palakkad: In a shocking incident, a homemaker was electrocuted by a trap set for a pig. The deceased, Gracie (63), a native of Vandazhi, was discovered dead in her tapioca plantation on Wednesday morning. Upon receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.
The preliminary conclusion of the police is that the woman died from an electric shock while setting a trap for wild boar in her garden. After completing the initial inquiry, the body was transferred to the district mortuary. The garden spans approximately two acres and is located in an area known for frequent wildlife disturbances. Gracie lived alone, and it is possible that she received the electric shock while attempting to adjust the electric trap in the morning. The police have initiated a thorough investigation.
This incident marks the second of its kind in the district within a week. Just one week ago, two young men were electrocuted by a trap set for wild boars in another location in Palakkad. The landowner responsible for the latter incident was arrested for concealing the body in an attempt to cover up the incident.
