Bhopal: Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, along with his wife. He arrived in Ujjain the previous day and made his way to the Mahakaleshwar Temple at dawn today to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. The Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee honored the Tamil Nadu Governor with a picture of Mahakaleshwara, prasad, and a shawl.

Governor RN Ravi and his wife visited the shrine, taking part in special prayers and pooja. After participating in the Bhasma Aarti and Jalabhishek, the temple’s main ceremonies, they sat in the shrine, Nandihall, and offered their prayers. Special security arrangements were made by the police for the Governor’s visit to the temple.

The Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple is a renowned Shiva temple located on the shores of Rudrasagar Lake in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The Shiva Lingam here is believed to be Swayambhu (self-manifested), making it the only Swayambhoolingam among the Jyotirlingas. Shiva is revered here as Mahakaleshwaran. The Mahakaleshwar temple has five floors, and the idol of Nagachandreshwar on the third floor is visible only on Nagapanchami day. Ujjain is also home to the famous Mahakali temple, with devotees believing that Mahakali represents the power of Mahakalan.
