Thiruvananthapuram: Adv. P Sathi Devi, the Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, has emphasized the need for changing women’s attitudes and mindsets in addition to achieving gender equality. She has expressed concern about women with evil intentions who resort to unkind actions such as poisoning their lovers.
While women have long been celebrated as symbols of affection and love, they are now engaging in criminal activities, like men. Adv. Sathi Devi pointed out that, in cases of domestic violence, women can sometimes be the ones who harm other women. She further noted that it is often mothers who discourage girls from doing things on their own and ask them to seek help from men. It reinforces the notion that boys should be the primary authority figures within the family.
Adv. Sathi Devi stressed the importance of preparing children, regardless of their gender, to be raised with an equitable mindset. She made these remarks during the inauguration of a training program for members of the “Jagratha Samithi” at Pothencode Grama Panchayat.
