BENGALURU: Customs on Saturday seized gold worth Rs 68 lakhs that was being illegally smuggled during an inspection conducted at the Bengaluru’s Kempagowda International Airport. 1133 grams of gold seized from the airport through three separate checks, media reports said.
In the first test, gold was found in the form of plates hidden in packets of nuts like almonds and pistachios. During the subsequent searches, gold in powdered form hidden in jackets and other clothes was also seized. According to the police, two Indians and one Malaysian were arrested in the incident.
