Ernakulam: A minor boy was brutally beaten up by the police at the Pala police station for driving without a license. A 17-year-old named Parthipan from Perumbavoor had filed a complaint regarding the incident, which took place on the 28th of the previous month.
According to his account, he was severely beaten by two police officers at the Pala police station. The complaint also asserts that his spine was severely injured during the incident. The incident occurred when the 17-year-old was arrested by the police while driving from Perumbavoor to visit a friend. The student alleges that the police accused him of carrying drugs in his vehicle and subjected him to physical abuse during the encounter.
As a result of the assault, the injured student is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital. His mother has stated that he is unable to move due to the serious back injury. She has indicated that they will file a complaint against the police officers involved.
The Pala police have denied all the allegations. They have insisted that a thorough investigation is necessary to ascertain the facts of the case. They maintain that Parthipan was stopped for driving without a licence and denied claims of physical abuse.
