Chennai: The popular Tamil film star, Junior Balaiah, has passed away. He died at his residence in Valasaravakkam, Chennai at the age of 70. Family members have stated that the cause of death was respiratory failure.
Junior Balaiah, also known as Raghu Balaiah, is the son of the famous Tamil actor TS Balayya. He was born in 1953 in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Junior Balayya made his debut in the film industry by acting in his first film ‘Melnaattu Marumagal,’ alongside his father. He appeared in approximately 50 films, including titles like ‘Julie Ganapathi,’ ‘Jayam,’ ‘Kumki,’ ‘Thani Oruvan,’ ‘Puli,’ and ‘Nerkonda Parvai.’ His last film, ‘Yenanga Sir Unka Sattam,’ was released in 2021.
In addition to his film roles, he was also known for his appearances in television shows such as Radhika Sarathkumar’s ‘Chithi’ and Bhanu Priya’s ‘Vazhkai.’ The last rites for Balaiah will be conducted on Friday afternoon in Chennai.
