Maiduguri: 37 people were killed in two separate terrorist attacks in Northern Nigeria. It is reported that Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist organization that has been operating in Nigeria for the past 14 years, is behind the attack. The attacks targeted villagers in the Geidam district of Yobe state. Seventeen people were shot dead by the terrorists, and another 20 people who had come to participate in their funerals were also killed in the ensuing explosion.
Boko Haram terrorists have been carrying out constant attacks on civilians in connection with the implementation of Islamic religious laws. About 35,000 people have been killed so far in Boko Haram’s attacks. According to the figures, around two hundred thousand people have fled the country abroad due to the fear of terrorists.
The kidnapping of Nigerian citizens by Boko Haram terrorists is also a regular occurrence. Bola Tinubu assumed power as Nigeria’s president last May but has been widely criticized for not taking effective action against Boko Haram terrorists.
