New Delhi: Indian players have taken the top positions in batting and bowling in the ICC ODI rankings. Shubman Gill secured the top spot, ending Pakistan skipper Babar Azam’s two-year dominance, while Mohammad Siraj topped the bowlers’ rankings. Gill claimed the first position with 830 points after playing 41 ODIs, with Babar Azam in second place with 824 points.
Gill becomes the fourth Indian batsman to reach the top spot in ODIs, joining cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli, who have achieved this feat in the past. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock is third (771), and Virat Kohli (770) is fourth in the rankings. Gill scored 219 runs in six matches during the World Cup.
In the bowlers’ rankings, four Indians are among the top ten. Siraj climbed two positions to claim the top rank, with Kuldeep Yadav in fourth place, Jasprit Bumrah in eighth, and Mohammed Shami in tenth.
