Aizawl: Five Myanmar nationals were apprehended with drugs in Mizoram’s Champhai district. Assam Rifles officials stated that heroin valued at Rs 18 crore and black money exceeding Rs 1 crore were confiscated from them.
The group was detained following a tip-off received by the Assam Rifles. The drugs were seized in a specialized operation carried out by three teams in Champhai district. Officials confiscated more than 2.61 kg of drugs from the suspects, stating that its market value exceeds Rs 18 crore. Sources also mentioned the seizure of counterfeit currency notes in denominations of 500, 200, 100, and 50. The accused individuals were taken into custody and handed over to Champhai police for further legal proceedings.
