Kannur: The police have initiated legal action against four individuals linked to the tragic death of a bus driver, who was hit by a train while attempting to escape a mob assault. The New Mahi police have formally registered a case involving four people, one among them a woman, in relation to this incident.
Jeejith (45), the bus driver, tragically succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a train while evading a mob attack. The distressing video capturing the assault on a private bus conductor, responsible for a pedestrian accident in Thalassery, circulated on social media yesterday. A relative has reported to the police that Jeejith was also subjected to assault by the mob.
The footage depicts the bus conductor being chased and assaulted by the crowd. In the sequence of events, following a pedestrian, Munir, being hit by a bus, Jeejith tried to flee, ultimately leading to his tragic demise upon being struck by a train. The New Mahi Police have opened a case concerning this unnatural death.
