Bike collides with pickup van in Palakkad; two dead

Palakkad: Two people lost their lives in an accident involving a bike and a pickup van near Pulinchuvadu, Melarcode in Palakkad. The deceased have been identified as Ponnumani (60), a resident of Chennamcode, Kanimangalam, Nemmara in Palakkad, and Santhosh (40), who were traveling on a bike. The accident occurred at 8 o’clock this morning.

Both the pickup van and the bike were headed towards Nemmara. While attempting to overtake another vehicle, the bike collided with the right side of the pickup van. Ponnumani and Santhosh, who were thrown off the bike, succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident. The bodies of both victims have been placed in the hospital mortuary and will be handed over to their relatives after the post-mortem.
