Thiruvananthapuram: In the case of the suicide of a young woman named Shahana in Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram, the police have filed a case against her husband, Naufal, under the Domestic Violence Act. The investigation team seized the phone and car used by Naufal. Based on statements from the parents and relatives of the young woman, the husband has been accused in the death of 23-year-old Shahana.
After Shahana’s death, her family members approached the police with a complaint against her in-laws, alleging that Shahana was physically harmed by her mother-in-law. The family has also released pictures showing Shahana’s facial injuries.
Shahana and Naufal got married three years ago and have a one-and-a-half-year-old child. Shahana took her life last December 26, in the evening. The young woman had been staying at her own home for the past few months due to constant harassment by her in-laws. However, when she did not participate in a ceremony held at her husband’s house, her husband forcibly took away the one-and-a-half-year-old child. Subsequently, the woman committed suicide.
