New Delhi: ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) is all set for Bharat’s first polarimetry mission as it prepares to launch XPoSat (X-ray Polarimeter Satellite) tomorrow (January 1) from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota to study black holes. The launch, scheduled for 9:10 am from the first launch pad at the spaceport, will include ten payloads alongside XPoSat. The countdown began 25 hours before the launch.

Polarimetry serves as a crucial tool enabling astronomers to extract information about celestial objects in the universe, a technique ISRO is leveraging for this mission. XPoSat features two primary payloads: POLIX and XSPECT. This mission is designed to detect X-ray sources in space and aims to measure the polarization of light.
