Kasaragod: Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will inaugurate National Highway projects under the Bharat Pariyojna scheme in the state today. The inauguration and foundation stone laying for 12 National Highway projects, with a total length of 105 kilometers worth Rs 1464 crores, will be conducted by the Union Minister. The event is scheduled for 4 pm at Thalipadappu Ground in Kasaragod, organized by the National Highway Authority of India. Union Ministers Dr. VK Singh and V. Muraleedharan are expected to participate in this event. Public Works Minister P. A. Mohammed Riyas will also attend the inauguration.

Additionally, today marks the inauguration of the Cheruthoni bridge and the Munnar-Bodimettu Road. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will officiate both inaugurations. The Cheruthoni bridge spans 120 meters in length and 40 meters in height, constructed with three spans and a width of 18 meters, including the pavement. The construction cost of the bridge amounts to Rs 20 crores. It has been constructed using modern techniques, featuring crash barriers, modern handrails, and a specifically designed section for the differently abled.
