Jaipur: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has joined the Swachh Abhiyan campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He visited the Khade Ganesh temple in Rajasthan and participated in the cleaning of the temple and its premises. Ahead of the Prana Pratishta ceremony in Ayodhya, he also appealed to people to actively participate in the campaign and ensure the cleanliness of temples and their surroundings.
“PM Modi has made cleanliness a part of his life from the beginning and has always appealed to the countrymen to make cleanliness a part of their daily routine… I also request the devotees to take care of cleanliness.Cleanliness is an important part of life”, Birla said.
Earlier,Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleaned the premises of the Kalaram Temple in Maharashtra’s Nashik as part of the Swachchata Abhiyan and urged people to conduct a cleanliness drive at religious places as part of the campaign. Ahead of the Ayodhya Prana Pratishta ceremony on January 22, many people took up the Prime Minister’s call and became a part of the campaign. People of different castes and religions from different regions participated in cleaning the temple premises. Yesterday (Wednesday), former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir was also part of the cleaning of the premises of Shiv Mandir in Karol Bagh, Delhi.
