Jammu & Kashmir: In a cease fire violation by Pakistani military, which fired shells and small arms across the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts, an Indian soldier was martyred. Naik Krishan Lal, 34, is identified as the hero who gave up his life while defending the borders of India.

Naik Krishan, who hails from Ghagriyal in Akhnoor, is survived by wife Shashi Devi. He was deployed in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.

Military spokesperson Lt. Colonel Devender Anand said that Indian forces retaliated heavily against the Pakistani military inflicting maximum damage to Pakistani Army and its soldiers.

The spokesperson also paid homage to the fallen soldier and said, “Naik Krishan Lal was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier. The Nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.”

Pakistan had also resorted to shelling on Sunday evening which led to the death of a 13-day old baby. His mother and two others were also injured during the attack by Pakistani forces from across the border.
