Lucknow : The BJP on Thursday expelled Uttar Pradesh MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was accused in the rape case and on Wednesday was booked by the CBI for alleged involvement in the accident of the Unnao rape survivor.
A four-time MLA, Sengar was accused of raping a 19-year old woman in 2017. On Sunday the woman and her lawyer were injured and her two aunts killed when a speeding truck rammed the car in which they were travelling in Raebareli.
As per reports, the truck in the accident belonged to SP leader Nandu Pal. Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government on Monday night recommended a CBI probe into the accident.
The Uttar Pradesh Police filed a case of murder against Sengar and nine others in connection with the accident. The probe in the matter was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday.
