New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has approached Apple Inc. to assist in unlocking the phone of Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently in custody in connection with the liquor policy scam case. Sources within the ED revealed that Kejriwal refused to provide the password for his phone, prompting the agency to seek assistance from Apple Inc. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleges that this move by the ED is an attempt to gain insights into the party’s election strategies and details about the INDI alliance.
According to reports from the Indian Express, no digital evidence was found on the personal computers or other electronic devices belonging to the Delhi Chief Minister. However, the ED seized four mobile phones, including the one used by Kejriwal. ED officials stated that the phone currently in use was switched off, and Kejriwal did not provide the password. Kejriwal informed the ED that he has been using this phone for nearly a year and does not possess the phone used during the drafting of the liquor policy for 2020-2021.
