New Delhi: Brazilian President Jair Messias Bolsonaro will arrive India today for a four-day visit. The visit aims at strengthening bilateral relations in the fields of agriculture, energy and defence.
Bolsonaro is also the Chief Guest for the Republic Day parade.
He will be accompanied by a Brazilian delegation comprising of several minister, senior officials, Chairman of Brazil-India Friendship Group in the Brazilian Parliament and businessmen.
This is Bolsonaro’s maiden visit to India. Both the countries share a common global vision, democratic values, and a commitment to foster the economic growth of both countries.
“Bilateral relations were elevated to a Strategic Partnership in 20006, heralding a new phase in India-Brazil relations. The relations are strong not only at the bilateral level but also at plurilateral fora such as BRICS, IBSA, G-20 and in multilateral bodies particularly the UN,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
