Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers took out in large numbers on Sunday in favour of National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Azad Maidan.
A massive crowd of Raj Thackeray’s party raised slogans in favour of NRC. The MNS demanded eviction of illegal immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh living in India.
Addressing the rally, Thackeray said, “I don’t understand why the Muslims who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act, were doing so. CAA is not for the Muslims who were born here. To whom are you showing your strength?”
Before beginning the rally, Chief Raj Thackeray offered prayers at Siddhivinayak Temple.
The ‘mahamorcha’ began from Hindu Gymkhana along Marine Drive to the Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.
