INDIA; The country will be hosting the World Environment Day on 5th June.
As the day focusses to protect the environment,’beat plastic pollution’ is the theme. Plastic has been a threatening product for earth for decades. The day urges all sections of people to move together to explore alternatives to minimise the use of plastics .
Every year 13 million tonnes of plastic goes to the oceans,and the quantity of plastic production grows excessively huge .for example, the world produced more plastic in last ten years than in the last whole century.Half of the plastic we use is the disposable plastic and it increases the threat .
A series of programmes are being conducted by the Government of India to celebrate the day.Activities include cleaning public areas,beach clean up,conducting seminars etc . India will be setting an example for the theme.
