New Delhi: After getting severe criticism, AIMIM leader Waris Pathan on Saturday retracted his words that had stirred up controversy.
“If any of my words have hurt someone, I take them back as I am a true Indian,” Pathan said at a press conference here.
He said that his aim was at some organisations who are trying to divide India.
“I want to say that my earlier statement was basically against people who are members of organisations like RSS, BJP, Bajrang Dal etc. These 100 are those people who want to divide this beautiful nation,” he added.
Pathan had delivered inflammatory speech on February 20 at an anti-CAA rally in Kalaburagi of Karnataka where he posed a threat to the Hindus by stating that a population of just 15 crores of Muslims in the country can definitely dominate over 100 crore Hindus. He signalled at the Muslims that time has come for them to unite and ‘achieve freedom’.
