New Delhi : The Supreme Court will consider the Lavalin scandal case today. The court is considering the petition by the CBI demanding trial of all the accused including Kerala CM and the petition by 3 KSEB officials requesting to be exonerated from the 23 year old case.
CBI had approached the supreme court questioning the High Court’s verdict that aquitted CM Pinarayi Vijayan, former Energy Secretary K Suresh, Mohanachandran and Joint Secretary A Francis. CBI argues that CM Pinarayi Vijayan and the other two who were set free from the legal proceedings have role in conspiracy, CBI has the evidence for the same. The High Court’s action of omitting the criminals from the charge sheet must be dissolved. CBI in its plea demands to cancel the exoneration.
R Sivadas, Kasthuriranga Iyer and KG Rajasekharan are the KSEB officials are the other petitioners. The Court has asked for an answer from KSEB. The case is considered by the bench headed by Justice N.V Ramana.
