Lucknow: Owing to COVID-19 outbreak, Muslim clerics in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday evening issued a special advisory urging the community to not go to mosques for Friday prayers. Instead asked them to offer namaaz in their homes or in small groups.
Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, Imam of Eidgah, said, ” Imams of the various mosques have also been requested to keep the Khutba (speech) delivered before or after the Friday prayers, short so that the time spent outside of the house and within the mosque is reduced. There will also be special prayers held in the mosques for the eradication of the contagious disease and for the health of all people in the world.”
