New Delhi: The chief of Nizamuddin Markaz of Tablighi Jamaat, Maulana Saad, has been traced at a religious place in Zakir Nagar. The Delhi police located him through “technical surveillance”, reported Times Now.
The cleric went absconding after a religious congregation called by him at Nizamuddin complex of the Islamic organisation that later emerged as the hotspot for more than 600 positive cases of COVID-19.
He claims to be in self-quarantine thereby unable to join the police for investigation. Delhi police evoked Section 91 of CrPC and asked the cleric to furnish certain documents and electronic devices in his possession. His lawyers however said that Saad cannot access documents due to the lockdown.
The police have asked him to join the investigation after 14 days of quarantine.
