New Delhi: Industrialist Anand Mahindra has found a sustainable way to provide food to his workers at his factories during the nationwide lockdown. An email from a retired journalist, made him to adopt this practice of serving food on banana leaves instead of normal plates.
This would help banana farmers to enhance their supply of banana leaves amid 21-day lockdown.
Anand Mahindra shared pictures on Twitter and tweeted, “A retired journalist, Padma Ramnath mailed me out of the blue & suggested that if our canteens used banana leaves as plates, it would help struggling banana farmers who were having trouble selling their produce. Our proactive factory teams acted instantly on the idea…Thank you!”
