Mumbai: At least six employees of Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Palace and Towers hotel have tested positive for coronavirus.
However, the exact number of cases have not been specified.
“Six Taj hotel employees are being treated at Bombay Hospital and they tested positive to COVID-19. They are recovering and their condition is stable now,” Dr Gautam Bhansali, consulting physician at Bombay Hospital, said.
Indian Hotels Company, which runs the Taj Hotel chain, said in a statement, “However, staff testing positive and symptomatic were duly hospitalized and others who were in contact with them have immediately been put in quarantine.”
At the same time, three media persons have also been infected with the virus infection. Officials said that 34 journalists who had come in contact with them have been put under isolation.
