Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has gone very strict with those who attack corona warriors and has announced a fine of Rs 5 lakh and a jail term of up to 7 years.
A draft ordinance was passed on Wednesday by the Yogi Adityanath Cabinet, followed by the amendment in the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. The amended Act will be soon implemented in the state.
The Centre had earlier brought an ordinance to protect healthcare workers who had come under attack in several parts of the country.
