New Delhi: Following the Visakhapatnam gas leak tragedy, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday issued notices to LG Polymers, Union Environment Ministry, Central Pollution Control Board and others.
According to the notice, the NGT has directed LG Polymers, India to deposit an initial amount of Rs 50 crore, for the damages caused due to the tragic incident.
Further hearing in the case is slated on May 18.
At least 11 died, while several others were hospitalised after Styrene gas leaked from LG Polymers plant in Visakhapatnam on the wee hours of Thursday.
