Coimbatore: A member of the Social Democractic Party of India has been arrested in connection with a murder attempt on a RSS worker, happened in March. The 36 year-old is the second accused in the case.
The accused M Jaffar Sadiq, is a resident of Rose Venue at South Ukkadam and was arrested on Friday.
A police officer said that the RSS worker N Suryaprakash, aged 26, was assaulted by two unidentified people at his edible oil shop on March 11 in the evening at Sundarapuram-Madukkarai Road. He was critically injured.
Soon after the incident, A Mohammed Hanifa was arrested in the case. During interrogation, Hanifa told police that he hatched a conspiracy with others to attack the RSS worker.
