New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on In line with the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the process to auction 41 coal mines for commercial mining.
He tweeted, “In line with the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, PM @NarendraModi ji today flagged off the process to auction 41 coal mines for commercial mining. This historic decision will make India self-reliant in the energy sector by introducing competition and boosting coal production.”

Shah continued saying that this decision of the Modi government will create more than 2.8 lakh jobs.
“This decision of Modi government will create more than 2.8 lakh jobs, attract capital investment worth 33,000 crore and generate annual revenue of 20,000 crore for the state governments,” Shah said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the auction process of 41 coal blocks for commercial mining through video conference today. It was part of the series of announcements made by the Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
The Coal Ministry in association with FICCI launched the process for auction of these coal mines. A two stage electronic auction process is being adopted for allocation of the coal mines.
