Kanpur: Eight police personnel including Deputy Superintendant of Police Devendra Mishra lost their lives after criminals opened fire at them in the early hours of Friday.
According to the latest reports, two criminals involved in the killing of police personnel have been neutralised.
“During a combing operation following last night’s encounter, two police personnel were injured and two criminals have been neutralised,” Mohit Agarwal, IG Kanpur told reporters.
Weapons have been recovered and search operation is underway to nab other accused.
The incident took place when a team of police had gone to raid history-sheeter Vikas Dubey’s house.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expresses his condolences to the families of the police personnel and at the same time has directed DGP HC Awasthi to take strict against criminals.
