New York: India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti lashed out at Islamabad for harbouring terror groups. He termed Pakistan as a nerve centre of terrorism and said that it is a home to the largest number of listed terrorists internationally and designated terrorist entities.

In an interview with news agency ANI, Ambassador Tirumurti said, ” It’s a well known fact that Pakistan is the nerve centre of terrorism. Pakistan is home to the largest number of listed terrorists internationally designated terrorist entities and individuals, including Jamat-ud Dawah, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen, they are continuing their operations from Pakistan. Let me state that the UN and its reports have reiterated the involvement of Pakistan in terrorist attacks abroad. You know, even in the recent report of the analytical support and sanctions monitoring team,” he said.

Talking about the Jammu and Kashmir issue, he said that Pakistan’s attempts to involve the United Nations has not ” borne fruit” and has been strongly refuted by India at every turn.

“Attempts by Pakistan to try and internationalise what is essentially a bilateral issue are nothing new. Contrary to what the Foreign Minister of Pakistan has asserted. There has been no formal meeting of the Security Council on the India Pakistan issue since November 1965. What came up recently was in a closed-door and completely informally meeting. Under what is called, any other business, which is not even a recorded discussion,” he said.
