New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi police on Saturday had arrested ISIS operative Abu Yusuf from Ridge Road area in central Delhi after a brief exchange of fire on Friday midnight. He was planning to plant IEDs at a place with heavy footfall.
Now as per sources, Yusuf was in contact with Yusuf-al-Hindi, also known as Safi Armar, who is Indian Mujahideen’s absconding terrorist, hailing from Bhatkal, Karnataka. He has been running the Khorasan module of Islamic State from Afghanistan, in collaboration with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, cited India Today.
IS Khorasan was given the responsibility of ‘shaking Delhi’, on behalf of the ISI and for this Yusuf-al-Hindi entrusted Abu Yusuf for the purpose. He is suspected of developing terrorists of Indian nationals by sitting in Afghanistan. He is also under the radar of Indian intelligence service RAW.
Around 15 kg of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) was recovered from the terrorist who was nabbed after a round of firing at Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area on Friday night.
“Incriminating materials including a brown colour jacket containing three explosive packets and a blue colour check jacket containing four explosive packets which were removed safely, leather belt containing explosive 3 kg approximately recovered,” said Pramod Kushwaha, Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).
