New Delhi: The Centre on Monday accepted the request of Himachal Pradesh Government to provide security cover to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut against the backdrop of several verbal threats from Maharashtra government and Shiv Sena.

The Centre has approved to provide Y-grade security cover to the actor. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has appealed to the Centre after actor’s family requested for security while Ranaut travels outside the state.

For a few while now, war-of-words have been going on between Shiv Sena and Kangana Ranaut after latter compared Mumbai with PoK. Kangana had raised serious allegations of the drug mafia in Bollywood.

Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut had threatened the actor not to come to Mumbai for she made PoK remark on Mumbai. Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deskhmukh had also reiterated the same stating that the actor has no right to live in Mumbai.

Kangana Ranaut thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing the security.
