New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off a social media campaign “Poshan Maah” on Monday on the backdrop against malnutrition and to stress importance of proper nutrition.
“Proper nutrition is vital to build a prosperous nation. #POSHANMaah2020 starts today. Let us undertake efforts to reach out to people across the length and breadth of India and spread awareness on eradicating malnutrition. This will help our Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti,” PM Modi tweeted.

PM Modi also launched a “Poshan Maah” recipe content and urged the people to share recipes of healthy dishes which have nutrition value.
“Let’s be #Local4Poshan! Our nation is home to dozens of healthy dishes, which have high nutrition value. Share them on a specially created space on @mygovindia. May your family recipe contribute to a nutritious as well as healthy India. #POSHANMaah2020,” he added.

“The Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition or POSHAN Abhiyaan or National Nutrition Mission, is Government of India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Launched by the Prime Minister on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on 8 March, 2018 from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, the POSHAN (Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition) Abhiyaan directs the attention of the country towards malnutrition issue and address it in a mission-mode,” reads on the website of Government of India.
