Mumbai: A three-storeyed building collapsed in Bhiwandi near Mumbai and at least eight people have killed in the mishap on Monday early morning.
Reportedly, five people have been rescued by the locals.
“The number of deaths have risen to eight in Bhiwandi building collapse incident. Five more people have been rescued,” Thane Municipal Corporation PRO was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
According to National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), at least 20-25 people are feared to be trapped. The rescue operation is underway.
