New Delhi: Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been assigned he charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, following the passing away of Ram Vilas Paswan.
“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed that Shri Piyush Goyal, Cabinet Minister, be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, in addition to his existing portfolios,” read a press communique from President’s office.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today visited Paswan’s residence and paid tributes to him, who passed away on Thursday.
