New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the presence of a large number of Chinese troops with weapons at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh is a “very critical” security challenge to India.
Jaishankar was speaking at a virtual event hosted by the Asia Society where he said that the violent clashes in the Ladakh sector has disturbed the relationship between India and China.
“There are today a very large number of troops(of PLA) with weapons concentrated on that segment of the border and that is obviously a very critical security challenge that we face,” he said.
The tensions between both the countries escalated on June 15 after Galwan valley clashes where India lost its 20 soldiers.
