Patna: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Income Tax Department on Thursday reportedly raided the Congress headquarters in Bihar. More than Rs 8.5 lakh was recovered from a car that was parked outside at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna.
A notice was pasted at the Congress headquarters.
Earlier, the Congress party was served a notice by the IT department in a matter related to a person who was caught allegedly with cash amount.
Income Tax officials also questioned Bihar Congress in charge Shakti Singh Gohil and national media in-charge Randeep Surjewala in connection with the cash recovered as they were present at the Congress office then.
