New Delhi: The second of the two Boeing 777 aircraft ‘Air India One’ to fly President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior dignitaries of the country will arrive today.
The first such extensively modified aircraft had arrived on October 1. The two aircraft – Boeing 777-300 ERs – had joined Air India’s fleet in 2018 and had been sent to a Boeing facility in Dallas for customisation.
It will have advanced defence systems similar to Air Force One believed to be the safest plane in the world and is used by the President of the United States. The planes with an unlimited range can travel around the world in one go. It is also capable of mid-air refuelling in case of an emergency.
