New Delhi: India’s 35th communication satellite GSAT-7 A is set to launch this evening. The satellite will be launched from the second launch pad at 4.10 pm from Sathish Dhawan Space Cewntre, Sreeharikkotta. ISRO has cleared that count down prior to the launch has begun at 2.10 pm on Tuesday.
GSAT-7 A will be carried by the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV F-11. The new satellite weighs 2250 kilogram and has an time span of eight years.
The satellite carries sophisticated communication facility and aims to boost both air force and military. About 70% of the satellite’s mission is meant for air force. The new satellite is an extension of GSAT-7 and the 13th flight of the GSLV rocket to orbit. This is ISRO’s seventeenth mission to the orbit.
